PHARMA DYNAMICS APPOINTS NEW CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER TO DRIVE NEXT PHASE OF GROWTH
Pharma Dynamics has announced the appointment of Wilmi Hudsonberg as Chief Commercial Officer, a newly expanded leadership role that will bring closer alignment across the company’s Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Corporate Communications functions.
The appointment marks an important step in Pharma Dynamics’ continued focus on sustainable growth, execution excellence and improving access to quality, affordable medicines for healthcare professionals and patients across South Africa and the broader region.
Erik Roos, CEO of Pharma Dynamics, says Hudsonberg’s appointment reflects both her strong track record and the company’s confidence in her ability to help guide its next phase of growth. “Wilmi has played an important role in shaping Pharma Dynamics’ commercial capabilities over many years. Her deep understanding of our business, our customers and the healthcare environment, combined with her collaborative leadership style, makes her ideally placed to support greater alignment across our commercial functions as we continue to grow sustainably and deliver on our purpose of improving access to quality, affordable medicines.”
Wilmi Hudsonberg has been with Pharma Dynamics for 16 years, having initially joined the business as a Product Manager. Over time, she has contributed across expanded roles within Marketing before ultimately leading the Marketing and Corporate Communications teams. Business Development was added to her area of responsibility in 2021. Since her tenure as Senior Director, her role has further included a range of local and regional projects, where she gained broader commercial experience working closely with cross-regional teams across the organisation.
Reflecting on the appointment, Hudsonberg says she is grateful for the opportunity to step into the role and for the trust placed in her by the business. “Having joined Pharma Dynamics 16 years ago as a Product Manager, I could never have imagined that my journey would lead me to this position. I am deeply grateful for the mentorship and support I have received from our senior leadership team, particularly over the past six years.”
She adds that her experience across integrated teams has strengthened her belief in collaboration, continuous learning and a customer-centric approach. “Working on cross-functional projects has broadened my perspective, strengthened my commercial capabilities and equipped me with the experience needed to lead with clarity and purpose.”
In her new role, Hudsonberg will focus on further strengthening Pharma Dynamics’ commercial strategy, supporting divisional heads, and identifying shared roadblocks that may impact execution. A key priority will be to enable greater collaboration across the commercial value chain without disrupting existing workstreams.
“One of our greatest strengths is the calibre and experience of our commercial leadership team,” she says. “My role will be to further enable their success by removing barriers, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment across our commercial functions.”
The closer alignment between commercial functions is expected to support Pharma Dynamics’ long-term growth strategy by enhancing product lifecycle management, improving customer engagement and ensuring consistent execution across every stage of the commercial value chain.
The company’s established leadership in cardio-metabolic diseases provides a strong platform for future growth, with opportunities to strengthen its core portfolio while expanding into adjacent therapeutic areas that address important co-morbidities.
According to Hudsonberg, success in the role will mean building on Pharma Dynamics’ legacy while positioning the business for sustainable long-term growth. “We have developed trusted brands, meaningful customer partnerships and globally renowned patient support initiatives that have made a real difference in healthcare. My ambition is to continue strengthening these foundations by driving innovation, expanding our portfolio, developing future leaders and enhancing our commercial capabilities.”
She says commercial performance will remain important, but that the company’s broader impact will be equally meaningful. “Ultimately, success will not only be measured by our commercial performance, but by the positive impact we continue to have on our customers, healthcare professionals, patients and colleagues. If we can grow sustainably while remaining true to our purpose and values, I will consider that a meaningful achievement.”
